Territorywide smoking ban. On October 20, 2010 Governor Togiola Tulafono signed into law the American Samoa Smoke Free Environment Act, a Fono bill passed earlier in the year. The bill went into effect on January 20, 2011.
March 17, 2010 - American Samoa - Smoking will be banned in workplaces, buses and taxis, restaurants and all public places in American Samoa under planned new legislation. A person who smokes in a no smoking zone would be subject to a fifty US dollar fine.American Samoa
The owner or manager of a public place or place of employment who fails to comply with the no smoking law
would be fined 100 dollars for a first violation and 200 for each addiitonal violation within one year.
